I enjoy cosplay because it gives me a chance to portray a character that doesn't necessarily act, talk or walk like me. And in some cases I can escape reality and become something that's mystical or different from the average human! It's fun to create a costume and wear it proudly knowing that even if it's not the most perfect costume out there, you made it yourself and had a hell of a lot of fun doing it! Especially when you can share fun times with friends!
